Suara Adedeji Adediran, 74, of Middletown, CT, passed away on November 11, 2022, after a brief battle with Glioblastoma. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Olusola Abeni Adediran, their four children—Adekemi, Ayodeji, Adeyemi, and Adegoke—their families, and grandchildren, as well as his siblings and extended relatives.

Born on January 27, 1948, in Oyo State, Nigeria, Suara earned his BSc in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan in 1973, followed by a PhD in 1979. He completed postdoctoral work at respected institutions such as the University of Alberta and the University of Kansas.

Suara held the position of Professor and Department Head of Chemistry at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, until 1999. After relocating to Middletown, CT, he became a Senior Research Fellow and Visiting Professor at Wesleyan University and also taught at Quinnipiac University and Fairfield University.

A distinguished Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Suara co-authored 55 research papers, publishing his final work shortly before his passing. He was widely admired for his mentorship, philanthropy, and chess skills, as well as his unwavering commitment to family and faith. Suara leaves behind a legacy cherished by both his loved ones and the broader community.
